The second batch of training of midwifery tutors (TOT) in "Client Centered Family Planning Services" (CCFPS) started on March 08, 2011.

Training of CMWs Tutors on Provision of Client Centered Family Planning Services (Advance) held from February 01 to 10, 2011 at Islamabad.

A letter of agreement has been signed between National Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Program and Population Council (FALAH Project) on December 14, 2010.

National MNCH/FP Conference held on 1st and 2nd December, 2010 by the collaborative efforts of National MNCH Program and Health Services Academy.

Provincial MNCH Communication Implementation Plan Meeting held in Balochistan.

Training advisors deployment at National and Provincial Offices of the MNCHP.

Ministry of Health approves the Unified Health Messages on MNCH.

Special Advisor on Social Sector to Norwegian Prime Minister visits MNCH Program.

MNCHP and Save the Children join hands for Newborn Child Survival- EVERY ONE Campaign.

RAF-Stimulating relevant and accessible research on Maternal and Newborn Health.

Launch of "Opportunities for Newborn Survival in Pakistan" in Karachi.

Targets:
The National Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Program has some crucial targets to accomplish by 2012. MDG targets will be monitored through third party evaluations, national surveys and a repetition of the PDHS, regular monitoring of other aspects of health system. The core targets of the program are as under:

Human Resource:

...................1– Recruitment/Training/Deployment of 12000 Community Midwives (a new cadre).

...................2– Recruitment of 324 Midwifery Tutors.

...................3– Training of 15000 Health Care Providers.

Infrastructure:

...................1– Organize 114 midwifery schools

...................2– Strengthening/Up-gradation

...................3– 214 hospitals to provide comprehensive EmoNC services

...................4– 650 health facilities to provide basic EmoNC services

...................5– 5000 BHUs to provide preventive PHC and FP services
